Entry I — The Storm
No stars tonight.
The compass has turned against us, and the sea moves beneath the ship as though drawing breath. The crew calls it weather. They say the darkness has simply swallowed the horizon.
Fools.
Something below us has opened its eyes.
Entry II — The Judgment
I remember the mast breaking.
I remember the sea taking every voice but mine.
Then came the descent—past the reach of sunlight, past the wreckage of ships whose names have been forgotten. Something wrapped itself around me and carried me into the black.
The voice did not enter through my ears. It spoke from inside my bones.
“Fear me.”
“No.”
“Then drown with me.”
Entry III — Three Days Below
For three days, I drowned without dying.
It showed me every vessel it had broken and every soul that had surrendered. It offered silence. An end to struggle. Peace beneath the weight of the world.
I answered with steel.
My hand closed around its flesh, and the abyss screamed.
Lightning found the water. Fire entered the deep. When I opened my eyes again, one burned with the storm—and the other carried something older.
The beast released me.
Not from mercy.
From pain.
Entry IV — The Living Pattern
I returned with a fragment of the creature still clenched within my hand.
We sealed it inside a storm-forged brass reliquary beneath the captain’s quarters. It has received neither air nor light, yet it does not decay.
It changes.
The men will no longer sleep below deck. They claim they can hear it moving inside the brass. Last night, one of them whispered a name for it:
The Kraken’s Marrow.
The flesh does not rot. It remembers.
And each night, it remembers more.
Final Entry — The Judgment Remains
The Kraken still lives.
I feel it whenever the tide turns black and the compass begins to tremble. It waits beneath the storm, nursing the wound I gave it—and calling to the mark it left within me.
This war did not end beneath the waves.
It began there.
No monster rules my ocean.
